Should I Release Mannimarco Rating: 3,4/5 9239 votes

Lore-canon, but not a mainstream release. Oblivion at least pretended you had a choice (if you wanted to join Mannimarco comes to mind).

Since nobody has posted anything in the lore section in over 24 hours, Im going to start a new conversation about one of the more interesting characters (in my own completly not in any way biased opinion ) of the elder scrolls. Now I asume you all now that mannimarco became the ascended into godhood in daggerfall, so how could he appear in oblivion? And why would he be so weak?(this is comparitivly speaking of course, I expected a much bigger fight from a god.) was that the true Mannimarco? Or was a mannimarco that was created by the warp in the west? Or was it a possessed vessel? Or maybe he was just using the name for the effect.

The Dragon Break at the end of Daggerfall established that only one of the endings actually 'happened', as far as I know, and that was one where Mannimarco did not become a god. It's actually a bit more complicated than that, as far as I can work out, and goes somewhat into the realms of quantum mechanics - all the endings 'happened' but there was only one actual outcome. He is a lich though, and therefore can't die of old age, which is why he's been around for nearly as long as Bruce Forsyth.

Obviously stabbing him in the face with 60 pounds of sharpened ebony will kill him though.I've always been unsure as to whether he got his powers from somewhere (the Mantella?) or if he's just a very powerful mage. I suspect it's probably the latter otherwise by now he'd have tried to take over the world instead of just hiding in Echo Cave and making rude gestures at passing Mages' Guild members. The Last Horse In The Sand of The Brotherhood.:. Ab + bc despite being more complicated is the same as ac. That's cool, right?I work in logic vectors.

That's now canon for my life, 'kay?BANG →! Personally, I beleive that you didn't 'kill' him per say, but actually simply banished him to Oblivion much like Mehrunes Dagon. In that case the New Elder Scrolls game might feature his return, given it takes place 200 years in the future. He is also one of my favorite characters (I actually gave HIM the mantella).No.1 we are not sure the new game is even in development, much less when it takes place. No.2 Why would he be banished to Oblivion?

He isnt Daedric.Depending on the outcome of Daggerfall he might be a demi-god. Bethesda sort of avoided the endings of Daggerfall with the warp in the west and there's really nothing canon to confirm or deny that he is a god in oblivion or morrowind, but it's possible. The circumstance of his return could have prevented him from applying his full powers on his return in Oblivion.

As a lich, he would keep his soul in a vessel which is presumably kept safe (not necessarily on his person), but which would mean his subsequent manifestations are weaker than his 'true' demigod self (if that's what he is). A bit like Sauron, he sacrifices power for a type of immortality (by investing an object with that power) and as such he seems to be a good candidate for an ongoing nemesis. Voldemort did something similar by splitting his spirit up into several parts to protect his person. So the mannimarco we meet is really a fragment of the real mannimarco which is why he is so lame. I was so disappointed by him, i killed him with arrows before he'd finished his speech, and animated him with his staff and planned on parading him through the mages guild (work in progress)If he has any demigodlike powers he may have a plane of his own, not necessarily part of Oblivion, but something apart from the mundus and the daedric realms. Perhaps he's found the dwemer or just a small pocket of limbo to exist in whilst he plots.TES5 is in production, its going to be set in the summerset isles and involve pirates. They may or may not be extra planar pirates. Well, I think it goes back to the question of 'What happens to the soul when a soul gem is used'.

Some have said that the soul is released, and this release powers the energy (The belief that keeps soul gems as 'not evil'). The other belief is that the soul is transferred to the item. Which does give the impression of them being burned like fuel in the case of recharging an item (This would make soul gems undeniably evil).I've always assumed the second. Heck In morrowind the gem carried the name of the thing in it.I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

And yeah, I normally assume the second, and as a result have never actually used soul trap. Destroying someone's soul is just kinda. Too squicky for me. And this coming from someone who likes tearing people's lungs out as a werewolf. I believe that the souls in Elder Scrolls are separate from the spirit of the person. I can see why this is confusing as the two words are interchangeable in real life but I'm guessing in ES they physically exist separately.

The Spirit is the essence of the person and are how ghosts exist and continue into the next life. The Soul is what bonds the Spirit to the body, the stronger the person or creature the more the body and spirit must work together with the soul thus making the soul strong as well. This is my interpretation anyway, and capturing the soul doesn't keep the spirit and body from parting and therefore isn't that bad.
